Abstract

This study tries to identify problems regarding the information requirements of human scientists in five fields of study. The statement of the problem is foi1owed by a justification of the methods used and a few characteristics of the target group that was interviewed. The requirements are categorized according to the basic functions of the library and are discussed in the following sequence: requirements concerning the collection, cataloguing and indexing of, reference to and delivery of sources of information. The study ends with a. few conclusions, a research program on the use and users of information and recommendations. One figure, 37 tables and a bibliography of 65 quoted sources are included.
