Abstract
The rehabilitation value of exercise programs in different illnesses
is clearly stated. What type of exercise to be used, is not so
clearly marked out. In the process to find out which exercise will
use the best remedy for the different illnesses one should make sure
that the working capacity of the persons used for testing is not
exceeded. A knowledge of the energy cost of the exercises is
therefore needed.
In this study the first problem therefore, was to calculate the
energy cost of several exercises at different progressing work
levels.
The second problem was to find the relation, if existing, between
the energy cost of the exercises and the rate or amount of work
done.
Thirdly to try and find a regression equation to enable one to calculate
the energy cost, at different rates of work done,
