| dc.description.abstract | The consept of burn-out is explored in terms of physical signs and behavioural indicators. Burn-out manifests itself in many different symptomatic ways which vary in symptom and degree frrnn person to person. The specific aim of this study was briefly : 1. Determiniation of the level of: burn-out negative stress somatic conditions resulting from stress amongst managers in a production environment . • ~ Determining whether there ex ist a relationship between: burn-out and negative stress burn-out and somatic conditions resulting from stress burn-out and management style burn-out and social support experienced in the work situation Results indicated -that there is a positive relationship between: burn-out and negative ~tress burn-out and somatic conditions resulting from stress burn-out and the implementation of a theory- X management philosophy Results also indicated that social support in an organisation reduces burn - out. Results arising from this study are summarised in chapter 4. | |
