| dc.description.abstract | Organisations in South Africa are currently in a process of transformation and focus on three variables namely strategy, leadership and organisational culture. The fact that employees in different organisations share the same personality traits _ present a unique opportunity to understand the culture within specific organisations. Homogeneity of personalities, which are supported by the sosialisation process, does have an influence on the culture of a specific organisation. Research regarding homogeneity of personalities and the influences thereof on organizational culture were already being studied in South Africa. There are however still uncertainties regarding the effect of homogeneity of personality on the effective functioning of an organisation. The aim of this research was to conceptualize from the literature, the relation between personality and organisational culture and to describe theoretically, the personality traits and preferences as related to a specific organisation. A correlational design was used as a research design. The experimental group was selected . by means of an availability sample and consisted of employees from three different organisations. The measuring instruments applied for this research were the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire and the Diagnosing Organisational Culture Questionnaire. | en_US |
