The major determinants of critical success factors in school management of Rekopantswe Area Office Secondary schools

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to identify the major critical determinants of success factors in the management of secondary schools in the Rekopantswe Area office, under the Ngaka Modiri Molema Education District, in Mafikeng, North-West Province. Successful schools are successful because of what they do, and non-performing schools are failing also because of what they do. The overall aim of this study was to help performing schools guard their success factors closely and also under-performing school to find a better ways of becoming successful. The quantitative research design was used for this study in order for the researcher to have a numeric response from the respondent. Questionnaires, document analysis and observations were used to collect data from respondent in the schools. The findings suggest that performing schools exhibit success factors on an effective and consistent basis based on their strategic planning, execution, reviewing and consistent re-learning . The study therefore recommends that schools should adopt an effective teaching and learning strategies that will yield success on the learners performances.
