Abstract

The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree was developed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to address socio-economic issues from a developmental paradigm. Field education reflects the reality of the profession and the context in which it is utilised. Hence, field education is viewed as an integral and valuable part of the education and preparation of students for practice. The research objective of this study was to undertake a qualitative exploratory and descriptive study of the perceptions of field instructors in terms of the current state of social work practice training. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews with field instructors
