An examination of the procurement processes in the Information Technology Division of the Department of Finance, North West provincial government

Abstract

The Information Technology directorate within the department of Finance in the North West Province has traditionally been the sole custodian of Information Technology and IT budgets for other departments in the province. Over the years, there has been drastic technological changes and growth in terms of needs by various departments for IT resources and related services. The aim of the study was to examine procurement processes within the department of finance which culminated to poor service delivery and to recommend possible solutions to the department through the study.
