Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-coronavirus (CoV)-2 is responsible for a new coronavirus disease known as coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19). SARS-CoV-2 reports neurotropic properties and may have neurological implications, and this creates another health burden for people living with HIV. As yet, the impact of COVID-19 on (neuro)inflammation and the development of HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND) is not fully known. Here, we reviewed preliminary evidence that provides clues that COVID-19 may exacerbate inflammatory mechanisms related to the development of HANDen_US
