dc.description.abstract | This dissertation investigates service delivery problems at the departments of Public Works, Roads and Transport, Economic Development and Naledi District Municipality in North West province. It highlights problems relating to public service delivery despite the availability of funds. Public Service delivery is a broad topic hence this study confines itself to problems within the departments e.g a disjuncture between the funded plans and the actual delivery of services.Literature pertaining to public service delivery was reviewed and served as a primary data that adds value to the dissertation. The sample was drawn from 40 employees at the above mentioned departments and municipality who were cooperative in answering the questions. This study seeks to find solutions that will assist in ameliorating the outcry of community members. The study revealed that although there are systems in place, there are still flaws in the operationalisation of the planned activities. This could be caused by evident inadequate levels of capacity. The other finding is that managers are not placed in positions for which they hold academic qualifications. | en_US |
