Die vraag na die bestuursrol van die Senior Provinsiale Administratiewe Klerk (SPAK) in die sekondêre skool

Abstract

The question of the role played by SPAC in the management of the secondary school has been discussed in the thesis. The character of the secondary school was considered because it determines the structure of the administrative department of that school. Attention was paid to the duty sheet of the administrative staff in order to establish each person's duties with relation to his/her colleagues. Some duties of the administrative department were also mentioned. Mintzberg's management roles were studied and possible management roles of SPAC were tested against the ten management roles of the Mintzberg model. By ways of an empirical investigation, it was determined whether SPAC had a management role to fulfil. It has been determined that the SPAC has an organizational role to fulfil. Some suggestions were made to achieve better utilisation of SPAC in the administrative area . ln conclusion: guidelines were given to improve the present position of SPAC in the administrative department.
