Abstract

This passage is only partially (vss, 3-7) printed as poetry in Biblia Hebraica Kittel and Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, The aim of this paper is to propound the theory that the whole of Ezek, 29:3-16 must be regarded as poetry, 1 This theory is deduced from four factors, viz the strophic framework of the 2 passage, parallelism, the distribution of certain elements and the structure of the whole passage (which relates to the strophic framework), In addition to these factors the paper will discuss the metre and rhetoric used in this passage.
