dc.description.abstractThis study focuses on the views and attitudes of students of the Northwest University, Mafikeng campus regarding domestic violence in South Africa. Quantitative research techniques are used. The primary data collection instrument is the questionnaire which is self-administered and the sample comprised of students from the North West University. Factors associated with the cause of domestic violence include power to control, drugs and alcohol abuse, socialization process and depression. Finally, the recommendations include stricter laws for domestic violence cases, educational campaigns on the negative implications of the problem and higher conviction rates for the perpetrators of domestic violenceen_US
