| dc.description.abstract | The study investigated the constraints faced by rural school managers. The impact of socioeconomic factors related to poverty, low level of education, low income, poor infrastructure and lack of resources on school management were considered. Questionnaires were personally administered to gather the data from 50 respondents. Based on the analysis and interpretation of the data it was found that socio-economic factors affected the school managers at Gamorona Village. There is a lack of parents ' involvement in the management of the schools. There is a dire shortage of resources to promote the objectives of management to achieve the desired goals. It was determined from the literature that most of the working conditions in the rural schools are not satisfactory and may lead to lower performance by school managers. The study provided several recommendations to alleviate the constraints faced by rural school managers. Amongst the recommendations was to develop a programme that can be used to manage the constraints faced by rural school managers and to do further research on this subject. | en_US |
