Abstract

This study is based mainly on herbarium material, obtained from various herbariums in Southern Africa, Great Britain and Europe. In addition to this, fresh material was collected for further study in the laboratory. Special attention has been given to the following aspects: 1. Pollen morphology 2. Organography 3. Anatomy of the laminas of five species 4. Compilation of scatter diagrams Important results: A study of the pollen morphology has revealed that two distinct sculpturing types are found in Crabbea , i.e. germmate and reticulate/gemmate.
