SKOONVELD (Dolf van Coller) as biblioterapeutiese leesstof vir karaktervorming en perspektiefverandering by adolessente met 'n belangstelling in gholf

Abstract

Adolescence is recognised as one of the most difficult phases in human life. The present confusion due to Humanism, globalisation, professional sports and reality television, intensifies the problems man is faced with. Both OBE and bibliotherapy strive to mould and develop happy, balanced adults. By using Skoonveld (Dolf van Coller) as bibliotherapeutic reading matter, adolescents were confronted with their own situations and identification. Even aspects around faith, like grace and God as Father, were addressed. Skoonveld, contextualised in the golf metephor, could lay claim on moral standards from a South African perspective. With golf heroes like Ernie Els, Retief Goosen and others giving prominance to this sport, Skoonveld can be promoted as bibliotherapeutical text for QBE thus, changing the classroom into a world of small proportions. This was done through a Christocentric worldview summarised in the words of Wim (p. 87): 'The individual who is not anchored in God can offer no resistance on his resources to the physical and moral blandishment of the world".
