| dc.description.abstract | Change is generally caused by external environment, but may also occur internally as a result of the introduction of technology, management systems and new tasks. Employees tend to resist change as it usually represents a threat to familiar patterns, status and financial rewards. From this, the assumption can be made that if change is not managed propely it may influence morale and motivation. Furthermore, it may create conflict that will manifest itself. AIM The primary objective of the researcher was to look at work groups as well as the individual role (within the group) and to bring social change which occurred on different life grounds in the enterprise into perspective. Due to the fact that social change can occurred on a variety of grounds in the enterprise which can influence the behaviour of workers was it necessary for the researcher to delimit this study and did the researcher looked at culture as cause for social change. The worker, society and culture, are a solid unity where the worker is a former and supporter of the society and culture, but on the other side influence the culture the worker and the society. This study also reflected the change within the individual which occurred in the normal family life with the movement of people from the country environment to the urban environment. METHODOLOGY The interaction between individuals are very important. For this reason is it necessary that different individuals belong to a group within the society. The values and norms which individuals accepted will have a influence on their perception of life as well as a influence on their behaviour to other members of the group. The group will accept new members to the group based on their ability to adopt the values, norms and standards of the specific group. If an organisation has a positive culture can social problems within group participation been solved and all individuals within that group can make a positive contribution to the organisation. attitude of the individual to benefit the organisation. Resistance against change is normal but social change demand adjustments from individuals and groups. CONCLUSIONS Change bring development within people, the society and the business and this development lead to growth and social reconstruction. Resistance against change is normal but management must communicate all information regarding change to employees within the organisation. Management must make employees aware of the difference between them whereby people can understand the difference between them when they are in interacting. It is necessary that management have sympathy for workers regarding change. Management must assist employees through the difficult stages of change and communication channels must be open at all times. It's management obligation to see that there is stability around employees needs and the need for change. The researcher is of the opinion the change can be measured based on the following, namely: - employees locality and commitment to the organisation. - the moral of employees during the implantation of change. - quality of work which had been done. Change within the organisation is essential to ensure that survival of the business. In this regards can the organisation stayed in competition with their competitors. Conflict within the organisation is also a factor to take into consideration if an organisation decided to change their strategies due to changes within the environment. RECOMMENDATIONS The employer must understand that employees within an organisation is very important. Without employees can't a organisation survive. Communication between employees must be promoted. The training of employees can also be considered as an important factor for the company to inform employees about the difference between them. The employees must understand clearly that due to the culture difference between them would individuals differ from each other. These differences must be respected at all times. A new concept for business regarding traditions and culture of blacks must also be considered. The researcher is of the opinion that the company is part of the society where the individual belongs to. Within the society there is a free flow of communication among the employees due to the fact that every one have the right to known what's going on in the organisation. The organisation must understand that the company also has a social responsibility to their employees due to the fact that the urbanisation effected the individuals which have to move from the country environment to the urban environment. In the past urbanisation had been controlled by legislation which had been in placed. Today the organisation must look at factors of concern when they appointed employees. | en_US |
