Abstract
The stigmaeid mites collected from Guilan Province in Northern Iran were investigated. A new species Cheylostigmaeus guilaniensis sp. nov. is described and illustrated. The following five stigmaeid species are new records for the Iranian fauna: Eryngiopus bakeri Gonzalez, 1965; Eustigmaeus ottavii (Berlese, 1910); Ledermuelleriopsis spinosa Wood, 1967; Stigmaeus glypticus Summers, 1962; and Stigmaeus petrophilus Kuznetsov & Petrova, 1979. A tabulated checklist for stigmaeid species recorded from Iran is also provided.
