Die bestuurstaak van die skoolhoof by die implementering van die Skolebestuurderopleidingsprogram (SBOP) in sekondêre skole in Transvaal
Abstract
The management task of the school principal in the implementation of the School Driver Education Programme (SDEP) was researched in this study. Reference was made to the nature of a school driver education programme in order to determine the role of the school, parental home and the community. Subsequently what the principal's management task ought to be in the implementation of a SDEP was determined by means of a literature study.
By means of an empirical study the present state of affairs concerning the management task of principals in the Transvaal who have already implemented the SDEP was determined. The desired information was acquired by means of structured questionnaires. A statistical analysis was made of the answers received on the questionnaire. An interpretation of the finding was discussed and concluded that principals do not carry out all the education management duties as required. It is recommended that principals be provided with clear guidelines for the effective implementation and functioning of the SDEP.
