Abstract
Amidst the trend of globalisation, this paper is focused squarely on the most
fundamental and urgent problem for the twenty-first century: the relationship between
man and nature. It explores this question by analyzing traditional Chinese Confucian
thinking regarding the relationship between man and nature in the hope of utilizing
this traditional wisdom to show in what ways traditional Chinese culture offers new
insights into this and related twenty-first-century issues.
