dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted because a private security company underwent a restructuring process due to a change in Managing Director in 2016. The company represented is one of the largest private security companies in the Vanderbijlpark area and enjoys a client base of just over 3000 clients in the area. After undergoing a change in Managing Director, it changed its strategic objectives and embarked on a restructuring process in order to leverage talent as well as acquire new talent in line with the new objectives. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of a restructuring process on the effect on the employee morale of the employees of the organisation. Upon examination, it was found that there is a strong correlation between communication from top management and maintaining positive employee morale during a restructuring process. Furthermore, it was found that employees were more likely to display positive morale during a restructuring process if they were job secure. The implications of this study for improving employee morale are investigated and discussed. | en_US |
