dc.description.abstractThe profession of Biokinetics has been undergoing significant evolution over the last decades. This paper provides an overview of the history of Biokinetics and the progressive changes to the professional bodies regulating the profession. These changes include the formulation of the Professional Board of Physiotherapy, Podiatry and Biokinetics, Biokinetics Association of South Africa (BASA), BASAꞌs Life through Movement Conference, new Biokinetics emblem and the new proposed professional Biokinetics degree. A critical review of the benefits and challenges of the proposed professional Biokinetics degree are presented. A rationale for a scientific Biokinetics journal is proposeden_US
