    Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine the Quality of Work Life (QWL) of Front Office Employees (FOE) at a hotel group and resort group respectively in South Africa. These two groups were compared to determine which company provides more favourable QWL conditions for employees. A quantitative, self-administered survey was used to collect data from 292 FOE at the hotel and the resort group. A confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to compare FOE at the hotel group and the resort group. The results indicated that the hotel group’s FOE is more satisfied with all aspects of their QWL than the resort group’s FOE. The most significant life domains identified by the FOE were also highlighted, and suggestions made to address problem areas. This research contributes to the literature of hospitality management, human resources management and Quality of Life.
