Die invloed van vóórkoms op die verstaan van leerinhoud
Abstract
The aim of the study was to determine the influence of prior knowledge on the understanding of subject matter as well as to determine the influence of the speed of presenting subject-matter on the understanding thereof. In order to achieve this aim a literature study was done to provide a broad background. Two experiments were then used to investigate the influence of the two mentioned variables on comprehension. From the statistical results it can be concluded that prior
knowledge has an influence on the comprehension of subject-matter and that to a lesser extent the speed of presenting subject-matter has an influence on its comprehension. These conclusions are in accordance with the general trend of the literature study.
