Historical knowledge gained assists both the academic and legal practitioner, engaged in legal research, to understand the development of South Africa�s legal system as well as the external and internal influences affecting it. An inclusive perspective also empowers legal researchers to move beyond traditional research approaches, reaching for new frontiers.
