Abstract
This study is concerned with the Following two questions namely:
• What is the best way of implementation of the microcomputer for the purposes of school management?
• How the microcomputer was implemented by schools which already have one and also the problems encountered in their method of implementation?
The microcomputer is discussed as an instrument of management as well as
the contribution it can make towards the four areas of management namely:
planning, organising, advising and controlling, The possible advantages
of the implementation of the microcomputer as well as the possible uses
thereof in the school was also touched upon.
A method or implementation of the microcomputer was discussed and there
was also looked at the general characteristics of an ideal computer•
system for sct1ool management.
Statistical interpretation of answers to a questionnaire which was sent
out was made, and, comments which were made strived to clarify certain
problems which cropped up and lo identify problems which might he encountered.
Lastly certain conclusions and recommendations were made. The recommendations
are concerned with general policy, initial training as well as
in-service training of teachers and post-graduate courses in Education.
