dc.description.abstractThe aim of the study was to ascertain the level of knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of the aged male on HIV and AIDS, and to what extent daily living has been influenced by the disease. The focus of the study was on older men who are affected by HIV and AIDS. Indepth interviewing was done within the exploratory design to gain data of a qualitative and quantitative nature. Interviews focused on the perceptions of participants on illness in general, but HIV and AIDS specifically. Topics such as the influence of HIV and AIDS on the individual, the household and the community were explored.en_US
