    Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic has not only affected people's health, but also their economic stability. Numerous methods have been followed to combat the spread of the virus. One of the methods followed by the South African government was a national lockdown. A consequence of the pandemic with the accompanying containment measures is that many people have lost their jobs. Job loss of parents not only has an effect on themselves, but also on their children. People's holistic well-being and the role that faith fulfills in the daily living of life form part of the field of study with which practical theology is concerned. The aim of this study is to shed light from a practical-theological perspective on how children, in the context of parents who have lost their jobs, can be guided through children's ministry to use their faith resources to make sense of their circumstances and to flourish in spite of their circumstances.
