The research aimed at investigating the role of service delivery transformation of health sectors. The study focused on the North West Province, with reference to the Mafikeng Health Sub-district. A quantitative research method was used with a sample of seventy managerial health staff, professional staff, auxiliary nurses, assistant nurses and environmental health workers to determine the role of service delivery in the transformation of health sectors. The past health system experienced a great deal of duplication of services and resulted in wastage of resources. The study shows that the development of a health system should ensure equity in service provision in long term , the planning management and delivery of health services should be comprehensive and integrated. The structures available for health must be used to produce the best health results at the level lowest possible cost. All people should have access to the health services. The research found that the government structure of the District Health generally referred to district Health Management Team is responsible for providing health services in the areas including health and is accountable to the people in that area. The research recommends that the management structure should encourage community participatory forums to advocate for the health needs of the community. This may assist in conducting a situational analysis in the communities, advising and participating in the decision making process and in planning, implementing and evaluating the health programmes.en_US
