'n Taksonomies-ekologiese ondersoek van sekere edafiese endeostigmata [trombidiformes : acari]

Abstract

The taxonomical features of the cohort, Endeostigmata, as well as the nomenclature are discussed. The existing key to the families and genera is verified to contain new additional information. A short synopsis is given of the taxonomical features of each of the six existing endeostigmatic families, viz. Alycidae, Terpnacaridae, Sphaerolichidae, Lordalychidae, Nanorchestidae and Alicorhagiidae. A new family, Hybalicidae, which is based on the genera HybaZicue Berlese (1913) and Grandjeanicus gen. nov., is created.
