    Abstract
The aim of this paper is to offer an insight in Performance Information Management systems and its services to the Independent Development trust. Hence some organisations have been developing their performance information systems for decades. Until recently, the actual use of performance information management systems was not very high in many organisations in South Africa. This study analysed employee perceptions on performance information management systems in the Independent Development Trust in the North West Province. The purpose was to determine how performance management information systems are used to measure organisational performance and the factors that influence the perceptions of employees on Performance Information Management systems as well as to establish the level of Information Communication Technology skills. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were used. A questionnaire was administered to the 30 employees. The employee's perception was revealed in the analysis. More than eighty (80%) believe that if both leadership and employees participate and work together, the organisation will produce good results. It is recommended that information sharing, strategic cooperation or alliance, and working together should be encouraged by management. In practice, the wide-spread nature of this phenomenon is evidenced by the information system (IS) for integration purposes, including information systems infrastructure such as data communication tools, network connection, standard data structure, unified coding standards, information systems software such as enterprise-wide information systems and information systems applications centralised data base management systems, electronic data interchange (EDI), web-based or internet-based information systems are very important.
