Employee satisfaction with labour relations practices in the North West parks and tourism board
Abstract
The focus point of this research project is the level of satisfaction of employees
with labour relations practices. The main problem here is generally problems
encountered organisations with more emphasis on labour relations practices in
the North West Parks & Tourism Board. The data collected by means of
questionnaires given to; Senior Managers, Middle Manager, Supervisors,
Technical Staff and Fixed Term Contract Employees. The findings ind icate that
problems are still uncounted.
The orientation of this study, the statement of problems, the hypothesis, the
purpose of the study, method used and definition of terms are dealt with.
Literature centering around this topic widely highlights, general literature related
to the topic is reviewed , and literature related to the North West Parks & Tourism
Board, in as far as level of satisfaction of employees with labour relations
practices is concerned.
The problems which were identified in the empirical study were serious
dissatisfaction on labour relations practices with regard to; management of HR
practices, management of labour relations related to communications, and efforts
of senior managers in promoting good labour relations. Recommendation
reached after the data was analysed and interpreted. Recommendations are also
drown from the areas of concern in this study. Some of the recommendations
based on what has been studied in this project are also given by researcher.
