A historical study of leadership within the Presbyterian church of Congo in the post-missionary era, 1960-2003
Abstract
This dissertation engages in a historical analysis of the leadership of the Presbyterian Church of Congo in the post-missionary era from 1960-2003. It seeks to investigate the complex challenges facing the indigenous leadership of the Presbyterian Church of Congo in the post-independence era, especially the prevalent leadership crisis at regional and national levels of the Church.
The changes in leadership have affected the missio Dei and significantly influenced leadership interactions across the nation. This necessitates a historical study of the devolution of leadership to gain valuable insights into the historical factors that led to the leadership crisis in the Presbyterian Church of the DRC in the post- missionary era.
