The effect of deadlines on group work projects amongst students at the North-West University
Abstract
This study was undertaken to investigate The Effect of Deadlines on Group Work Projects Amongst Students at the North-West University. Furthermore purposive and convenience sampling methods were used in obtaining more data on the subject matter. A sample of 92 respondents was selected, which is perceived to be
representative of the entire population as per the sampling guidelines. Data analysis was presented in the form of frequency tables and graphs and the former and latter were interpreted as indicated in the footnotes to each. Some of the findings of this study indicate that visible forms of group work differences increase the impact on deadlines and the eventual completion of the product and as a result dampening the group performance and the deadline. These findings are not peculiar to the North-West University only but also occur at other institutions based on the literature reviewed . This study can safely declare that there is both a
positive and a negative effect in respect of individual perceptions of deadlines on group performance among students at the North-West University.
