The researcher utilised the survey and single system procedures in order to develop a theatre programme. Questionnaires were sent to high school scholars
in Potchefstroom in the North West Province. Due to the results attained by means of the questionnaires, a theatre therapy programme was developed. A group of adolescents took part in the theatre therapy programme. The conclusion that can be drawn firstly, is that the knowledge adolescents regarding HIV/AIDS is limited. Secondly, attention will have to be given to current prevention programmes. Finally, it was established that theatre therapy does indeed expand the adolescents' knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS.
