    Abstract
This work is a deductive analysis of the planting of the Baptist Church of Montijo, based on Pauline practice and strategy. After the introductory chapter, the place of planting of churches in the mission of the Church of Jesus is defined. Next the work focuses on the Pauline ministry of planting churches, discussing his theological convictions, and explaining his philosophy and methodology as a church planter. In the final part of the paper, after describing how the Baptist Church of Montijo was planted, the church plant will be analysed in the light of Paul’s theology and practice. The conclusion is reached that this church plant did follow the patterns of Paul. Suggestions and recommendations will be made not only of the Montijo Baptist Church planting project, but also for other urban church planting projects.
