    Die implementering van 'n gebeurlikheidsplan as taak van die departementshoof opvoedkundige leiding (DSO)

    Abstract
    Deur middel van literatuurstudie is die aard van gebeurlikheidsbeplanning in die skool teoreties gefundeer. Daar is aangetoon dat die veiligheid van leerlinge in skole aan vela risiko's blootgestel is. Weens hierdie toedrag van sake moet 'n skool oor 'n gebeurlikheidsplan beskik. Dit is belangrik dat sodanige plan ge'lmplementeer word. Deurdat die gebeurlikheidsplan 'n gedokumenteerde uiteensetting is van die skool se verwagte optrede tydens gebeure, die doelwitte, toerusting, mannekrag, die verskillende voorvalle waarvoor daar beplan is, is dit nodig dat elke funksie in die gebeurlikheidsplan, al die relevante prosedures wat nodig is vir die implementering van die plan, deeglik bestuur moat word. 'n Empiriese ondersoek het die huidige stand ten opsigte van die implementering van die gebeurlikheidsplan deur die DSO aan die lig gebring, te wete: * bestuursaspekte in die beplanning en implementering van die gebeurlikheidsplan; * skakeling met buite-instansies en ouers; * personeelbetrokkenheid: opleiding en pligte, en * toepassing van beheeruitoefening. Ten slotte is bevindings gemaak oor die bestuurstaak van die DSO in gebeurlikheidsbeplanning en is riglyne neergele vir die praktiese implementering van 'n gebeurlikheidsplan aan sekondere skole. The nature of contingency planning in the school has been determined through the study of relevant reading matter. It has been shown that the safety of ehildren in schools is very vulnerable. As a result every school must provide a practical contingency plan. This must be documented in the event of any emergency, so that : the arms, safety equipment and the man power for various contingencies can be readily available and carefully administered. An empirical study concerning the implementation of the contingency plan by the DSO has emphasised the following: * Managerial aspects in planning and implementation of the plan. * Liaison with public sector and parents. * Staff participation and training. * Relevant control. Finally, guidelines and recommendations for the DSO in implementing of contingency plans in Secondary Schools have been provided
