This paper presents a comparison analysis of two electric motors with helical movement of the rotor. These machines are also referred to as machines with two degrees of mechanical freedom. The machines are designed in such a way that the rotor performs rotary-linear movement. The first machine is a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The motor is a combination of two permanent magnet synchronous motors: conventional rotary and linear motors, which are connected by the mutual housing and shaft. The second motor is an induction motor with mutual rotor, and two stator armatures: linear and rotary. The electromechanical characteristics of both machines were determined and compared. The conclusions about the machines' performance were madeen_US
