Little business integration of power quality management (PQM) is forthcoming amongst electrical utilities all over Southern Africa. Restricted access to proper information is the main reason. A integration of tools, procedures and people is required before an electrical utility can be operational in management of the quality of electrical energy. The South African NRS 048 document describes the minimum standards on PQ at a point of delivery and compliancy is reported through a standardised assessment report. Empowering people with appropriate tools and procedures in Power Quality Management by the creative application of modern technology is presented in this paper. A Web-based PQ Management system was developed that continuously disseminate PQ information extracted from data recorded at more than 300 sites distributed all over an electrical network in near real timeen_US
