An investigation of the challenges of the strategic human resources management in the safety and security sector education training authority (SASSETA)
Abstract
The purpose of th1e study was to investigate the challenges in the implementation of the
strategic human resource management functions and practices in SASSETA. The study
investigated the impact of organisational structure, the positioning and reporting lines on
the ability of the Human Resource Professionals to become strategic business partners.
The study further investigated whether the Human Resource Practitioners possess the
relevant competencies that contribute towards the achievement of the strategic
objectives of SASSETA. The findings and recommendations of the study are made and
will be presented to the Executive Management Committee of SASSETA.
