A liturgy of retirement Retirement is one of the largest transitions in the life cycle of the human being. This article investigates the possibility of a liturgy of retirement and its application in practice. As retirement is closely connected to the concept of calling, the visionary calling in Isaiah 6 was investigated intensively. Control of the results was done from the viewpoint of two other visionary callings, Luke 5 and Revelation 1. A cursory metatheoretical literature study, as well as a qualitative empirical investigation, was conducted. A few practical guidelines are suggested in accordance with the finding that a liturgy of retirement should at least contain the following elements: wonder, humiliation, reconciliation, commitment and proclamation.en_US
